Default Need advise on '05 dealer negotiations

Hello everyone,

I've recently discovered this forum and have a few questions about a '05 Allroad that I'll be purchasing in a few days.

I've researched and test drove many vehicles over the last month, ie. X3, RX330, Outback and A4 avant.... I keep coming back to the AR for multiple reasons that everyone here already can appreciate.

Once I decided on the AR my next quest was to find my perfect choice. I checked with over 30 dealer across the U.S. to find a completely loaded 2.7 Tip including Nav +. After not finding my exact match (price, color and options) I decided to go with a local purchase that has everything but Nav. My thought is that I can use my Tom Tom GPS if I'm desperate for Nav.

Anyway, I'm looking for opinions on the terms of this deal. Also, could everyone list the things that you would ask for from the dealer as part of the package (different tires/wheels, ect...)

Here's what the dealer has offered. Keep in mind that I'm going in with money in hand so he will not be making anything on the financing:

2005 AR, Pearl Effect, Black interior, 2.7 Tip, 99 miles, no CPO (extra $1000), factory warranty punched in July '05, Premium, Premium Audio w/Sirius, Full body paint, Twin spoke wheels (Goodyear tires I believe), Cold weather and Parktronic. $42,664

Is this a good deal? Thanks for the advice. I hope to be joining your ranks within the next couple of days.

Default US allroad sales for Audi are down 81%...

...this amounts to some significant leverage, IMHO.

The only time you can deal on price is if you are willing to walk away from the car. Check any of the services where you can get the value to figure out the deal you are getting. If anything I might push to have them throw in CPO for free.

Default 2nd...

...helps if you want to keep this car, and definitely helps resale value.

I hear ya on the leverage issue. I know AoA is giving money back to the dealers since the warranty has been punched but how low can they go before it's unreasonable?

MSRP for this vehicle is $48,720. Dealer is offering just over $6,000 below. I'd be interested in other sales prices that buyers have seen recently just to compare.

Default FYI - you can always add the DVD Nav for about $1500...well worth it...

see my sig for more details. The install is fairly easy.

If you want the OEM integration with MP3, SAT tuner etc....get the RNS-E!

Default ...the Law won....but they reduced it by $50...

I downloaded a bunch of info from casedissmissed.com for background to defend myself.

In MA, you need to request maintence info on radar guns and speedometers prior to the trial (they call it "Discovery").

Oh well. I tried...

The last time I got a ticket the officer was kind enough to reduce it at the scene. I was coming off the Tobin on a Saturday morning, running late to my son's track meet at Reggie Lewis. Was doing around 65. Come to find out the limit is 30. The officer was kind and wrote me up for 50. I sent in a check.
