Default Need tires

Need a new set of tires for summer. What is recommended for the allroad? I want something quiet, good handling, and that will last a few summers. An all season would do just fine.

Bottom line, something better than the Pirelli P6 allroad.

Thank you.

anything is better than the allroad OEM.

I've been vey happy with the Z Rated All Season Falken Ziex 512. So happy that Ive have 4 sets. Great in NYC winters as well as dry. Good grip, handling is excellent and if you run them at max pressure 49-51 psi they will last 30K+.

Plus they are in the 85-95.00 range.

Yea if I didnt need the snow features of the Nokian WR G2s I would be running Falkens, for the price they cant be beat, if your not worried about price the Nokians are the best allseason I have ever run.

Default You get what you pay for......

I have had 17" GY TripleTred, 19" Yokohama Advan S.4. & now 18" Bridgestone Pole Position RE 960. All are excellent tires with serious mileage warranties. The best, due to the quietness, is the Bridgestone. Any of those 3 tires handle dry cornering, rain & snow very well. Why drive a 50K car with cheap rubber? Tire Rack's tests & surveys show these to be best. TR's tests are conducted on the same vehicle & same conditions. The 18" size is the best overall tire for the allroad from my experiences.

In NY with potholes all over, 18s on the allroad are not a great choice. Its not a matter of a 50K car. Its all about how you drive and what you need.

I'm looking at the Eagle F1 DSG3 tires (I have 2 sets of wheels). As good as they are I just can't justify or stomach spending 185.00 a tire + shipping+ mounting, etc. Can I afford it? yes, do I need it.. questionable.. will I enjoy it absolutely, but its just not the price point I can justify to myself.

I'll look at the Bridgestone Pole Position RE 960.

Thank you, for that price it's difficult to beat. At what pressure do you guys run your winter and summer/all season tires?

Default I love the Pirelli P zero nero M+S that I have on my allroad and TT

I kept them on the TT this winter and they did great in the light snows we had ( I normally put on a set of pilot alpins, but got lazy this year). They handle great and have been wearing well. I have 245/18 on the allroad, but I saw them in 225/55/17 with a 97 load rating, which is great for a car as heavy as an allroad.

I walked into my tire store today and saw a cooper tire poster with an allroad on it. It was advertising the RS4?

Default I like the 18s on the allroad, but I don't put them on until pothole season is over.

Usually around Mothers day. My Falken 451's have lasted many seasons. I got about 28K out of them. Might be looking for a good deal this year.
