I'm thinking about installing a new iPod in the center console using the Blitzsafe adapter to run RCA cables from the CD changer plug to the center console and the iPod. There is a 12v power adapter available from apple that has a headphone jack in it for the new generation iPod. So, I want to install a 12v outlet in or near the center console to plug in the adapter and then plug the RCA cables into the adapter (with another adapter) to link the iPod to both power and the Symphony stereo.
Questions:
Anybody install a additional 12v outlet in their ar either in or near the center console or even under the dash?

Is there power in the center console already that I can use?

I think this could be a clean set-up as the iPod will be hidden in the console and can still be used with the console opened. With the new generation iPod and power/auto adapter, the iPod only has one wire attached to the docking port on the bottom so you can easily take it out of the console to play with it.

Search the Forums. There is someone who put in an extra 12V jack undeneath the armrest. Looked very good.
