Default non-audi dealer "certification"

I'm an allroad newbie (howdy!) and have been offered "certification" of a '05 allroad 4.2...by the BMW dealer in possession of the car. 3 yr 36K mile warranty covers nearly everything. Anyone familiar w/ such non-audi dealer cert's?

Thanks!!!

Default Bro, that's not "certification" - it's just a service contract that covers certain breakdowns and

you need to READ THE FINE PRINT before you agree. First, I doubt the dealer does anything more than recon the car as normal, leaving whatever it can for you to fix or replace later. Then, it slaps on this contract and calls it certified with some fancy inspection papers and talk. Later, you have some coverage if something breaks, but to what extent - dealer won't be there for you later any more than if no "certification" so read up now to find out. You need 'exclusionary' coverage, not listed items only. Study up, be an informed purchaser. This term certified means nothing, if you have not gathered this yet, but dealers use it to justify retail pricing since no individual can legitimately claim to certify as an institution. (Note to self: Stop rant, move on.)

Default non-audi dealer = no true certification, as mustbeaudi says.

they're just selling you a service contract with a fancy name.

If you can send me a copy of the contract via email or fax, i'll let you know how it looks, but if they are already stretching the truth about what it really is, i doubt you're going to get a good deal on a good plan.

if you'd like a quote on an exclusionary, long-term warranty from a good company, let me know and i can give you one.

Default and since you are a newbie = Bruce knows his stuff on the warranties

Honest guy that speaks the truth. You should definitely take him up on his offer to review the contract.

Default Forgive my being a bit ascerbic, it was late, but I should have made this review offer

as well. Moreover, your 2005 presumably remains under 4/50,000 Audi coverage (including remaining free maintenance), so you need not rush into any such contract purchase until closer to the end of such coverage period, whether by miles or time. Some contracts start with purchase date, so be sure that's not how they're counting the "3" part.
