Default Offroad, Quattro and wheel spin

The great thing about having the allroad is to head out on a old dirt road to get to some out of the way spot. What has happened a few times is I get wheel spin when i pull off the road to park. Basiclly I'm going from the dirt road up on to a bank at about a 45 degree angle and over a low spot (ditch sort of) and up on to the bank. The left rear wheel runs out of grip then spins and the car comes to a halt. Hmmm not what I'm expecting from my Audi. It seems like my right rear should still push me thru the low spot when the left wheel spins. It must have something to do with the angle/grip and the differential. Turning off the ESP didn't help. I don't want to get stuck and have a subaru pull me out. is this normal?
thanks

sounds normal with what your trying to drive up
if you can get a running start, do that.
leave it in first gear, keep steady pressure on the gas pedal and dont stop

what kind of tires are you running?
if your running street tires, expect to get stuck and might have to get pulled out.

Yep the issue is normal and is because of the differentials. The front and rear diffs are "open" meaning no limited slip or locking of any kind. The EDL system tries to use the brakes to transfer torque to the other side when a wheel spins, but is generally pretty useless IMO. The one thing Audi should have done to really make the allroad a more capable off-roader would have been to put a limited slip or manually locking diff in the rear. But as PaperToast said, try to keep some momentum and don't let off the throttle when trying to go though tricky spots. The allroad doesn't work as a crawler due to lack of low range (in the US at least) and the diffs.

Can one press the brake pedal at the same time to simulate torque on the one spinning wheel so it send torque to the opposite side? I've heard this could help a quattro with open diff but I don't actually own a quattro.

After seeing those vidieo's and awesome pictures it looks like the wheel spin is normal. the great thing about the allroad is that it is a jack of all trades, the only draw back is its a master of none. It gets me to the trail heads, which is all i want.

ive done this before to get unstuck
brake pedal to the floor, get the rpm's as high as it will go, and let her rip
