then a Touareg to replace our Explorer in mid 2004.

But then again, the element is a nice utility car... oh I don't know.

Which do you think?

Once again to clarify, I still absolutely LOVE the allroad and hate to say goodbye, but it's on a lease and my commute will be increasing quite a bit... so if I keep it, it will be way over mileage at turn in, and I don't want to really be forced to buy it out at lease end. Also, 17MPG isn't too great for a daily commuter... and also again, saving a couple hundred a month is a good thing too.

Default I LOVE the Element....just not enough kick....but generally...

a GREAT car to beat on - and a great car to haul dogs around in without worrying over every canine snot-mark on your Formula One tint!

I'd get the GTI, seems like it makes more sense than the allroad for your needs.

AE or VR6 GTI - way more fun than the element! Good choice.

Default Nah, element is kinda cool and ugly, the WRX is just ugly... fast though, I know.

If it were a performance thing, I'm strictly a VW/Audi guy. I know that a WRX will kick my **** and all, but I just love the GTI. I owned a 2001 VW GTI for 10 months before getting the allroad, and I also owned a 1989 Golf. Japanese cars just aren't the same (I owned an Acura Integra too).

Default well being completely unbias... I got my wife one of these:

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/20161/p3272057.jpg"></center><p>
You don't want a VW man I've had too many of them. Wasn't VW just rated as one of the worse car manufactures out there? Has VW solve the problems with the engines yet? Last I heard they were having ignition problems with the touregs and phateons. Anyway....
Got to hand it to the Koreans. They sure make a very thought out car. Side impact air bags, leather heated seats, (wood trim is cheesy but hey, I have a baby boy coming in August so I expect the car to get trashed) luxury package with tow, AWD with low, you name it it has it. Plus usable cup holders! Some of the biggest sellers to me are: the rear hatchback window opens seperate (unlike mercedes, BMW, lexus etc.) which is great for dogs, the rear tail lights bright up like leds, full size alloy spare, under the car is nicely tucked in, and the size of this vehicle is "high but safe." Side by side it is bigger then the old Lexus RX but the same size and almost shape of the Mercedes or the new Lexus 330... hm... A lovely car for the buck. Unfortunately probably the most ever paid for one (alittle over 30,000US...ouch) but I got even mudflaps, chrome mirrors, and stepbars which are all priced like audi... gr. Hey, that's the price to pay for a car that has had no problems so far. AND THERE ARE NOT MANY OUT THERE YET WHERE I LIVE! I see allroads everywhere now.
Think Korean neb! =^0<ul><li><a href="http://www.kia.com/sorento/index.shtml">http://www.kia.com/sorento/index.shtml</a</li></ul>
