Opinions: To paint lowers/flares/bumpers or not?

I recently backed into a post and wrecked the tailight, screwed up the quarter panel, and slightly damaged the rear bumper. The damage is going to set me back $1800. I really like the look of the painted lowers and was wondering what all of you thought.
1) What is the current average market price for this type of job?
2) What will this do to the value of my car? Worth it?
3) Fully painted bumpers, or matched to factory painted option?

It it a personal taste thingie. However, I found visually the allroad looks wider and meaner because the wide fender feels like a part of the car to give it a wide-body look. I don't think it will give you more value (eventhough I had to pay $1500 extra as factory option)
Like others said, if you like it, do it.

your 6th grade art class....all one color makes the car receed and appear slimmer...hence the monochromatic "little black dress"...so those of us with darker flares on lighter vehicles (all the flares are either dark grey or in my case grey-green) makes the flares pop out and hence we are wider and meaner looking. I have studied on this well as I like the S6 for all the things it can do but prefer the muscular stance of the allroad.
I bet before I started posting there were only references to "shoes" but never to dresses

and what it costs.
Mine is black so the color difference isn't as bad but part of me thinks that because it's black, the rubber makes the car look cheap. I definitely want to get them done, just don't know if I'll be able to justify the cost.

I also have seriously considered geting this done on my black allroad as I think it looks great. I have three estimates from local auto body shops ranging from a low of $1,120 to a hihg of $2,260.
