Skid, Just put Amsoil 0W 30 oil in the allroad on your recommendation, I was using Mobil 1 as it was easy to get, after switching from German Gastrol because I couldn't get it around here...now as I paid an arm and a leg for this oil...I am ok with that as I want this car to hold up, but how long do you run between oil changes? I have been going 5k religiously with synthetic only the entire time (3 years) I have owned the car, but didn't know if this one could go longer or if folks still go at 5K? Thanks in advance and I know this was posted a few weeks ago but I searched for almost the precise phrase and couldn't find that post.

Terry Dyson , and he'll let you know how long to run the oil. All my 10K GC 0w-30 samples were fine and showed the oil life left in it. FWIW when I took off my valve covers in Sept the top end was clean..

https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/oai.aspx</a

Its like going for a physical and leaving the "specimine". it tell you and the Dr. lots of information that a simple listen and see can't tell.

you can become a "member" and save about $2 a quart. I forget the actual amount but it was worth spending the "membership-fee". The savings on the first case paid for itself.

oil and run ~7500-8000 miles on either amsoil or mobil 1.
I would recommend the 5w40 though.
I just read that amsoil reformulated their 0w30 but I am not sure if it meets VW/Audi oil specs.
With that being said my friend that bought my 01 Tip A6 is still using 0w30 in it, so the car has been running it for over 90,000 miles without a hiccup.

specs.
I have no problem going 10K on oil change interval, or changing once a year, but it's up to you girlroad and testing would not be a bad idea if you want to be safe.
I think the 0-30 is pretty close to Audi specs though for weight, I don't recall what the name of the spec they use is off the top of my head. There was a discussion Qcrazy and I had on it, I'll search and see if I can find it.
