Is it possilbe to remove the timing belt covers to check the timing belt?

Default Is it possilbe to remove the timing belt covers to check the timing belt?

Or do the pulley/belts or anything else have to come off in order to take them off?

They appear to come right off after removing a couple bolts/latches.
