Power seat issues
My 99 A8 Avant is doing some weird things with the driver's side power seat.
I should mention that I don't have a manual (on back-order) so I'm using trial and error to work the seat.
Sometimes, when I get in the car, it is set way up high. I fix it figuring my wife set it that way. But if I turn off the car and come back a few minutes later, the seat is up high again.
I figure it's got to do with the memory.
Is there an ignition-off default seat position feature or is there something wrong?
To set the memory, I'm holding the M and number down simultaneously. Is this the way it's supposed to work?
Thanks,
HK

Re: Power seat issues
You can program the car so each remote will recall a particular seat/mirror memory. Maybe when you are disarming the alarm it is also recalling one of the other memory positions (i.e. 2, 3 or even 4).
Besides that I can't think of anything else.
Hope this helps.

What you haven't done......
...is set your preferred memory to your key fob. Aside from setting your memory, you need to link that memory position (1, 2 or 3) to your key. I can't think of the procedure offhand, but here is a quick test.
Find the memory button that is the "up high" position you don't like. That's the one that is currently set to the key.
Change the seat to the position you like.
Save it to the same memory button that was "up high"
Now, when opening the door with that key fob, it should set the seat (and mirrors) to the position you like.
Once you get you manual you can reset it to the memory number you want.
