Default Question: An Allroad or an A6 Avant? I don't need the air bag system

Subzero temps will dictate what works and what doesn't.
What other factors should I consider in my choice?
It will be my Winter daily driver. 60 miles round trip per day. I want (need) the winter heating package engine and interior. Quattro of course, 6 spd I think. I have never driven a tiptronic so I have no real opinion on which I prefer. Clutch and gears I know.

All comments welcomed.

Depth of snow a big consideration (ground clearance).

Default Snow not a problem no particular year A6, General application differences is what I seek.

The CQ gets around just fine in our typical winter snow. I have a truck for the deep off-road use.

I am trying to reason the differences between the A6 Avant and the Allroad and why there is a few thousand dollar spread between the two models.

There are none of either nearby for me to examine.

Default I'd go with an A6. Better MPG, better price, normally aspirated motors available if you want

you won't find an A6 w/ a 6-speed though. I believe the winter package is the same in both cars. Cheaper to maintain (1 air spring is a $1200 job).

c5 a6 had bad motor selection choices -- no performance options.

Default There are a lot of differences. See allroad faq

The unibody is gussetted on the allroad. It's a bit stiffer and stronger.
The airsprings.
No 5mph bumpers with overhang.
Height adjustable.
6 speed available (why I bought mine)
special satin paint on the roof and bumpers
Goofy plastic wheel flares
2 tone interior
bright strips under the doors, and
bright plates at the front and back (called skid plates; they are not)
