Default Question for the wheel/tire guru's. I am looking at getting a set of.......

255/35/19's on RS4 reps and was wondering if this size will fit our ar's I currently run 255/40/19's on my 19 in. wheels. Will the 255/35/19 be a lower profile? Also, the wheels are 5x112 et35.

I looked on the allroadfaq but no one is running this size. I am guessing there is a reason

Default Sidewall =3.51", your 255/40 is 4.01", also consider service rating..

OEM service rating is 96. The overall diameter for OEM is 26.74 the 255/35 is 26.02. I would be reluctant to reduce sidewall height. You would also need 10mm spacer at rear & at least 13mm at front.

too low for the heavy AR, 40 is low as it is. with 35 you are looking at a very high risk of damaging the tires at any mid size pot hole.

for show its nice go even lower but for daily drives 45 is my safer limit

and last smaller diam. on the tire more work for the engine more gas = > $ for gas and added use on the quattro in the long run(40-50K miles)

hope it helps

Default Shorter by almost 3/4" compared to OE.....

225/55-15 diameter is 26.75"
245/45-18 diameter is 26.68"
255/35-19 diameter is 26.03"

That's almost a 3% difference in diameter, so all readings will be high by that 3%- speedo, odo.

Default ru looking at the set that was on CL? If so, I also looked, size scared me off...

He had them on an ar... here is a pic... and even if you were not looking at the ones from Jason these are identical (255/35/19's on RS4 reps)....

Too low-pro for my tastes....

Nice, they look a little hard to keep clean but after double spokes anything would be better
