Quick question. SAI. Know thru searches it sounds like a whine. But what exactly would you describe
this as? Have what sounds like a very tiny jet engine (like a fan whir) that comes on about the first 30 seconds on cold startup, then abruptly shuts off. Doesn't sound as loud as others have described it to be, but I'm guessing it's the SAI everyone refers to. Correct or no?

I wonder about a trick to make these last longer....
....so I've been inside these things. Extensively, I'll say.
I talked to an expert, and typically, from what he says, the bearings tend to go. There are other things, but it sounds like typical wear concerns on bearings. Generally, oiling ameliorates the issue of bearing wear.
What about proactively oiling these bearings?

it's not a problem until it throws a code
basically think of it like a choke on an older car or piece of power equipmwnt. It helps warm up the engine/cats to standard operating temps.

Sounds like an air leak issue from the body of the pump itself, loosened rivets. Possibility?
