Has anyone written a howto for the airbag replacement for the rears?
I've ordered 2 rear gen1 arnott bags.. i'd of loved the genII's and the bilsteins but funds won't allow right now..
Looking at arnott's pdf it seems fairly straightforward, only bit i was confused about is seperating the shock from the bag once the nut is undone. Is there a kind of locking collar?

"8. Below the plastic cap is the nut holding the air spring to the shock. Remove this nut. See Figure “I”
NOTE: Shown is the nut removed from the shock. See Figure “J”
9. Remove the old air spring from the shock. You will have to turn the air spring 1/4 turn to disengage it from
the o-ring collar and tap down on the piston to dislodge. See Figure “K”"
any other things I should look out for? Can't afford for my car to be on jackstands for too long ;-)
If there isn't a howto, please let me know and i'll take detailed pictures..

Oh absolutely not! I made the mistake of thinking that and ended up damaging an air spring as a result. You must turn the shock 90 degrees from the spring to unlock it before it will come out.
There is a locking collar on them and to make things worse, the part on the air spring is made from nylon and will break if you try force it rendering your air spring totally useless.
I did take some photos when I did mine with the intention of doing a 'how-to' but haven't even gotten a chance to get the photos off the camera yet...

Agreed on having to rotate the shock from the spring/bag assembly. From what I remember taking it apart was not a problem. Making sure you get it lined back up when you put the new spring/bag onto the shock is where I had a problem. I mis-aligned the two and managed to spin it together with only one side locked in. (shock was crooked on the bag) Didn't notice until I had it back on the car and it wouldn't hold air. I had to take it all back apart and line it back up. Just take your time and don't force it.
