Default Recently picked up a 2001 allroad

Love my new allroad. Just got the windows tinted as you can see in the pics. Also had the tranny serviced right off the bat. however the other day the "dynamic headlight dimmer control" icon appeared in the center display and the self leveling suspension light in the tach came on seems as though the suspension is still working fine but the headlights do not adjust when i turn them on as they used to. I dont have a VAG and dont know what it is or where to get, but i do have the bentley manual. Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Doug

Get a VAG-COM. Real deal is best, but Ebay cord with registered Ross Tech software is better than nothing and will do most everything you need. This is one of the most important tools in your arsenal for trouble shooting the AR.

As for your current problem it sounds like the drivers front suspension sensor is on the fritz. This is the sensor that controls the headlights and suspension height on that corner. Simple to replace, but is a little pricey. http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-All_Ro..._All/ES399365/

Check the wiring first to make sure it isn't a simple broken wire or corroded connector. It's located in the drivers wheel well with the sensor body mounted to the subframe and the lever connected to the lower front control arm. There is 4 sensors total, one on each wheel, but only the drivers front controls headlights.

Correct, or you could simply try fixing it yourself: http://forums.quattroworld.com/allroad/msgs/45450.phtml

If fixing it doesn't work, try calling Bryan @ Audis4parts to see if he has any spares..

They are nice guys and "occasionally" have a good price on a sale item, BUT there could be NO poorer choice for OEM parts than ECS...same full retail price as an Audi dealer.

If you need new OEM, try these guys...WAY cheaper than ECS on ANY OEM part >>>
