I notice a diff. Default for my AR was 01002, I changed it to 01012 which is supposed to disable the DSP (Dynamic Shift Program).
I was worried the car would be in some lame lazy shift program, but was pleasantly supprised. It is fairly agressive (not as much as I would have liked) and much more predictable.
Give it a try if you haven't! If you don't like it, it's easily changed back!
If you try it, let me know what you think.
Regards,
Gavin

From an old A6 post (00002 is used in some older vehicles, looks like the new default is 01002):

Code_______Tip Strategy______DSP
00002----------New------------ON
00012----------New------------OFF
00022----------Old------------ON
00032----------Old------------OFF
New tiptronic strategy means automatic shifting for some cases (like from 1 to 2 on 15 km/h when kickdown switch is not pressed).

https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/146233.phtml</a

00032 will do all the same things as 01012, but the steering wheel tip buttons work in D and S too. And first still holds to redline in tip mode

Old post but I just wanted to add that it works for my 99 A8 Q 4.2
I wanted a better mode that was more responsive.
The stock setting was 00002 and a tried 00012 which was a little better but not very and wouldn't hold 1st in tip.
It wouldn't take 00032 so I tried 01012 and it works great.
Holds 1st to redline in tip and it more responsive to the gas pedal position.
I don't have to almost floor it all the time when I need a lower gear in D.
