Default Replacing the O2 sensor tomorrow, any advice?

It's the pre-cat driver's side sensor. I'm still a little baffled on how I'm actually going to get down there.

It also looks like it's leaking oil quite generously from the valve cover so I'll be needing to replace that gasket soon too. The dealer overfilled the engine oil too.

Default Oil cover gasket is almost a "normal" thing for the 2.7 engines....the O2 shouldn't be that

difficult, usually I unplug the sensor first to avoid "cable turn resistance", and before using the O2 tool to take it out, let it soak in some PB Blaster.

Default I've done the gaskets on my 2.8 it's easy

I think it's actually leaking quite a lot.

Good advice on unplugging it first.

What's PB blaster? Some sort of solvent to break it loose?

Just an FYI - overfilled oil on these engines can clog the catalyst via dirty exhaust.

Default PB Blaster is a very good penetrating oil to loosen stuff up

You need to move the expansioin tank, and remove the intake flex hose. Make sure you have a long extension. I found the slotted O2 socket worked better than the crows foot O2 socket for this one. YMMV..

Default you may not need the sensor...

Due to the oil over fill, it may simply be fouled. You can remove it, clean it and re install it. Assuming the overfill is corrected.

I'll ask why do this if you know the dealer was at fault? Let them take the responsability.

Advance auto parts sells an offset O2 socket that may help out.
