Default Is replacing the radiator fan a DIY?

I had it in the other day and they noticed it is starting to show little stress cracks so I figure I should get it replaced before it explodes. I just don't know what is involved. Has anyone done it here?

FIX IT! It's an easy DIY but can be a bugger to get loosened if frozen on. Personally I like an electric fan conversion... but some don't.

I would like the DYI on this as well. Not alot of space to work with. Do you have to pull the front clip off? Same as doing the TB?

I recently pulled mine out by just removing the intake pipe out of the way and pulling the fan out from the top. It was tight but it came out fine.

Looks like it is only $73 online, so if I can do it that will be less than half of what I was quoted. 9 is the fan itself, 8 is the fan and motor.

Correct. It's snug coming out but it made it with no real problem.

Woah - I thought you were talking about the viscous radiator fan that is known to explode.... the electric one comes out a bit harder in that it's too fat to slide out without pulling the whole core support out a bit. A much longer job and much more of a pain in the butt.

I got the intake pipe removed, but I am stuck as to how to get the fan off off the shaft.
