Default RNS-D Nav+ in & more pics of my vent gauge install

WOOT!

ignore the Navi sticking out and all the dust & coffee everywhere, I am still waiting on my GPS antenna, I accidentally ordered one from a company in Canada so it is gonna take longer to get it so I am not gonna push it all the way in until after I get the antenna installed

Many thanks to TeddyB for hooking me up with the plug&play harness!!!!!!!!

nav unit is nice, look forward to seeing it fully "installed!"

i still don't care for your gauge though. if you do run a gauge there, you should stick to a black-bezel, like a VDO gauge or something along those lines.

This may be a dumb question, what is the difference between the RNS-D and the RNS-E?

Thanks!

Rick

RNS-E is a DVD based map system & the RNS-D uses, cd based map discs.

In a nut shell the RNS-E is newer & better, but I only paid $300 so it was worth it to me.

There was someone on the board that put the gauge in while keeping the grates/slots. Looked much better imho.

Yeah that was my inspiration & I still have everything to still do that, but I needed something fast for now, like I said in my original post this was a temporary fix, it was taped to my steering column with blue painter's tape

I got lucky, a guy who totaled his S4 posted it up on Craig's List locally & I picked it that night for $300, then I paid TeddyB a fee for making me a wiring harness for $55 (you can do it yourself if you are good with wiring) and I am just waiting for my antenna which cost $25

there is a couple on Ebay & on Audizine.com
