Default Roof pod question- anyone try the Sears Sport 15SV piece?....

Reasonably priced for a 15 cu ft pod (on sale $125).

Appears to be reasonably constructed, will hold a jogging stroller etc. and isn't priced like a Yak or Thule.

Pic below is of their larger 20 cu ft model, but same shape etc.

Default That is a good price but

I wonder how easy it is to install and remove.
I have an old Thule that is a 1 hour job to mount.
I just looked at a new Thule and they have changed a great deal and are much faster to install.
A new Yak caught my eye which was silver, very aero and had quick release claps that go on and off in a snap! I saw it at the store and there is no mention of it in there catalog. I think it was called the platinum and was about 72 inches long and 32 wide, 16 cu ft?
All this for $430! Ouch
But I will probably get it because I hate long installs and don't want a box up there all the time!
Ciao

Default Do you know if the Thule quick change pieces will work with the old boxes?

I might give them a call and see - it is very fustrating getting the box on and off my wifes LR Disco especially by myself.

Default Thule Evolution 1600 sounds similar....

76 long, 33 wide, 15.75 high, 16 cu ft, $419.

aero looking, painted silver, Quick Snap mouning hardware.

I really want this box, but have a hard time justifying the $$.

Default Yes very similar in look and design...

I like the one piece quick relaease of the Yak a little better but would be happy with either.
Dam that price for a big plastic box!!!

I just linked directly to the image's location, from REI...

I skipped the copying/uploading step. =)<ul><li><a href="http://a1072.g.akamai.net/f/1072/2062/1d/gallery.rei.com/largeimages/704433.jpg">http://a1072.g.akamai.net/f/1072/2062/1d/gallery.rei.com/largeimages/704433.jpg</a</li></ul>
