hey there everyone... i've got a question about our allroad... we've been thinking about getting the tires rotated and getting the alignment done, and I'm curious, (in the interest of not having to go through a whole lot of tires) as to when you guys usually get those two maintenance items done... We've heard a few different things about the allroad and tires, but I'm wondering what your experiences have been with when to get a rotation and alignment done...
thanks a bunch!

402 mod, track days, un 402 then off roading, fairly heavy use for towing, etc. My poor car takes a beating. The alignments are my attempts to make up for that.

Had a four wheel alignment done at a local racing shop at 85,000 miles. I'd just purchased new tires, and one of old fronts had been badly worn on the outside tread.
They said the wear had to have been a bad tire, as they only hasd to make one minor adjustment.
Much more solid than what they were accustomed to seeing; all of the guys in the shop spent some time looking at the suspension.

@ 20K service I asked the dealer to rotate and balance the tires. He said they have to charge and I said I understood. I didn't ask how much. $100. Right side outside edges were wearing and since the OEM Goodyears are directional you would have to remove them and "flip" them on the wheel to put them on the other side. Tire dealer said it would not be worth it. So at 26K I bought new tires (Yokohama AS430 which are NTB's version of the Avid H4) and bought a 5 year alignment deal. It was the right rear that was out. Total was around $900. Tires were (each) about 150 + 30 to mount, balance, warranty. 5 years of alignment coverage was around $175. All this at NTB.
I believe they will check your alignment for free but you can bet they will say yes, you need one. The guy let me watch him do it. Neat in that the computer has photos of the underside of the allroad with arrows pointing to which bolts to turn and what size wrench to use, which way to turn the bolt to adjust which way.

I chewed through a set of rear tires in 8000 miles. Rear camber and toe were way off. Partially due to 402 mod, partly due to normal wear and tear on our wonderful Chicago roads.

Should have been done sooner, but I'm only seeing a wee bit of cupping on left front.
I was surprised that my dealer does not do this as a matter of regular service interval.
