I like the steering that my allroad has. I think it works well since mine is a daily driver. At triple digit speeds I never noticed the steering which means it's all good.

FYI it's a 628 in the 2002. 605 in the 2001.

Correct it does seem to tighten up at speed.. Really prefer the 628 in..

Me, too. Removing it only made it harder to steer at slow speeds.

yes,different steering rack bushing in 02 also, don't know if 628 will help on 01maybe ask a6 board

Check the tech section. Pretty sure there's a detailed article on it if you want to add a switch to turn it on and off. That's what I did. (Though I should have just pulled it -- never use it.)

if you are performance minded at all you will prefer it. also, like I said before my 105lb girlfriend prefers it out and has no problem parking. very easy to remove and replace, try it and make your own decision.

628 is supposedly better than the 605 and can be swapped in a 2001. Search the A6 forum. There's been tons of discussion regarding the two.
