Default Rs6 Rims+Spacers

I hear Achtuning is now selling thier rs6 reps in an et 35 with 15mm stock(not custom made) spacers. This sound like a better way to go than the rs6 et30 with custom 12mm (or 10mm) spacers? Bigger spacers more issues? Will a 5mm change in wheel offset change appearance. Thinking of these for an 03 allroad.
Has anyone running these rims (18") had any balance issues. I assume from previous post that the wheel and spacers should be assembled and balanced as one. This make sense?

Default Yes, it will change appearance

I have the et 30 with the stock H&R at 15mm, final et 15. Still plenty of room to go out, no issues with the wider spacers, everything is just fine. look at my sig and imagine the wheel 5 mm more to the inside, and that is exactly what you will have.

cheers

Default Yes, but unfortunately no more 30mm per Hartmann.....

From a business standpoint, it makes sense. Why stock 2 separate part numbers differing only by 5mm. So we can use the 35mm wheel with H&R 20mm spacers to replicate your look.

Looks like your wheels are destined to be "classics."

Default Yup. But they told me the only difference between the wheels was...

that on the 35 mm wheel, they machine the 5mm off the back of the mounting surface. So if you ever need another one, you could get the 35 mm wheel and run a 20mm H&R for the equivalent fitment.

Or, just avoid the potholes.

Default Re: Any potential problems between 15 and 20mm spacers?

ie --greater the spacer size more (potential) wear and tear on parts etc.? A 35 with 15mm spacer would = the oem wheel et of 20, right? Does an extra 5mm gain with the 20mm spacer (et35 wheel) improve handling to any noticable degree? This wheel is also wider (18x8.5) verses the stock seventeens. How does that play into calculations?

Default We can still get them in et 30, we just wont stock sets

We are really wanting to import four or five more wheel styles. Stocking the same part in two or three offset makes little sense when we have to use a spacer anyway. This way we can stock more parts for less money and they all work with the same off the shelf high quality spacer.
We really do have some cool new stuff on the way.

Soon to be up and running
