a lifetime of things from dinghys to sloops, pleasurecraft to racing.
If you're buying a CS33, then this isn't your first boat... otherwise I would welcome you to the joys of boat ownership.
For us, the J29 was just sold last year however, and we WERE going to go for a Nordhaven trawler.. but ended up with a CC 53 (fast trawler). Basically, a much bigger hole to shovel money into... So, from ragboats to stinkpots - it's a wonderful life.

I sailed on Falcon (big code flags on the side) in the 80's in LIS. Among all of the boats I've raced it still stands out as among the most rewarding to a skilled crew, and least forgiving to the novice. Killer boat.
I own/drive a Soverel 27 now and its pretty much the same idea as your J29, but lighter.
Cheers-

I grew up sailing though, sunfish to 420's to crewing on a 36 sabre for races (friend's parents's boat)
my wife also grew up sailing and her parents just got one of the new CS 40's they started remaking a couple of years ago, we've spent a lot of time on it too

...Which 'Falcon?'
When we bought the Express, it belonged to the Eddie's (had a son named Dirtball, who crewed with us on the first Chicago Mac we did on the Express) and was named... Falcon.
We brought that boat back to life (it had been raced hard and put away wet), eventually replacing almost all of the racing hardware, and rechristed her 'Time Bandit.' We eventually repainted the Bandit from it's original light grey, to a dark green hull (with fading waterline) and new white nonskid. Used to campaign the Bandit very successfully up in the Great Lakes up against the likes of Bonnie and Clyde and the Nasty Boys, and a big C& C named Este E's...
The J29 was a real terror on the local NOOD circuit. Masthead, Frac rig, inboard... it was the slowest configuration in light air... but the fastest in a blow.
The Soverel is a blast - we had one down on Carlyle. Um - a 33. Wicked light (and I loved the party transom).
Nice to see more sailors here.
