I have had a scan gauge 2 for awhile mounted above the dash cup holder. I routed the OBD-II cable behind the dash and up the passenger well but the constant tug drove me crazy as the gauge would tilt down. So today I decided to see if I could mount in place of the cup holder as the sg2 has a rear connector as well as a side connector.

After removing the radio I couldn't find any screws holding down the cup holder. Eventually I found that pressing on the center back released the entire mechanism and pull out the little light. I then rerouted the obd-II cable through the hole and reconnected the sg2. Much neater now.
