I bought car with burn mark in the same location on drivers seat.

I only use Heat Level 1 & 2 as a precaution.
I also wondered if a heat element could have ground out to some metal object previous owner had in a pants pocket or the like.

Keep us posted.

Audi of American replaced both of my front top seat covers a couple of months ago due to the heaters burning through. Here's a link to the thread I made on audizine about the process. Cliff notes are that I took the car into my Audi dealer, they took pictures of the problem areas, AoA decided to replace both covers and heating elements at no charge. Pretty painless on my end.

They are giving me a loaner, but a 'yota, but treating me like a second class citizen due to the 180k mi on the clock. If you can avoid classic Audi in westchester do so.

That sucks. My dealer didn't bat an eye when I told them mine had 175k on the clock but this was the first dealer I've dealt with that was polite and on the ball. Most (across most brands) just seem to be out for your money in any way possible. I hope it all goes well for you.

I'm sure it will, I called Christine and let her know the situation, she said she will be getting back with me tonight.

All is good. Audi has agreed to cover both seats. Heres the kicker, going to take almost 2 weeks just to get the parts so they are getting me in a better loaner
