Short antenna performance report

I ordered a short black antenna on Ebay so that I would not have to remove my regular antenna when I use the Audi allroad car cover. For reasons unknown, the cover's 'scabard' for the antenna is too short for the stock antenna. I got lucky in guessing which thread would fit the allroad. It took about a month to arrive so I don't recall all the details. I think I chose the larger of the two sizes available for the Audi.
This weekend I took a trip out of town and tried the new antenna ... and to my surprise it seemed to work better with FM and about as well with AM as the longer stock antenna. Obviously, this is not a scientific test but so far, I am pleased with the performance. At the very least, it is not terrible.
The antenna that I bought is about six inches long, all matt black and has a **** at the end that is about an inch long. I think it looks good without being flashy. But most importantly, it works well ... so far.

The car is currently in a commercial garage and is "buried" because I will not need it for a few days. When I do, I will try taking a picture and posting it here.
