Default Similar topic, but what about with a tip?

'02, 2.7, tip, 91k, CPO until August. My plan right now is to get an '04 or '05 with low miles, 4.2. Wife drives it, so stick isn't an option.

I could see if it was a stick I had, I might hold onto it. But with the TC issues... I'd rather get something that is going to last me for a while. I'll get an extended warranty. I figure if it has ~30k it should last me 5-6 years. I really doubt I could get that out of the '02. Cost to upgrade is probably $10-12k.

Default x33333. I did both boots myself. 10k later, and my inner joints start vibrating...

....and I still have a set of 6MT cores I could either have rebuilt, or sell as is.

Default Keep it...

My '02 2.7T tip has 49k mi on it and about 1.5 yrs left on the extended warranty. I've only recovered about 1/2 the money I put into the warranty. So far no major issues at all except for CV boots, window regulator, and oil return lines. The way I look at it, you can either put 4k/yr into maintenance into a car you love, or buy a new car and put out the same 4k (or more) in terms of yearly depreciation.

Being that you are used to driving the P Car and an allroad, I'd rather doubt you'll be getting something cheap like a Camry. So if you replace the allroad with say a 65k BMW wagon (god forbid), with an 4 yr depreciation of about $29k, that's over $7k/yr. Either way, you'll be spending money. The manner in which it is spent is for you to decide.

Just Keep it...$4k is cheep to get it to 200K. We are at (160k now) and it's still a great car.
