Shuddering with high speed braking

When I go to the mountains I find that I get a shudder towards the front left when braking... The steering wheel shakes.
Is this likely to be rotors or bushings ? Do rotors warp as they get hot ? The rotors seem fine first thing in the morning and they seem to be in good condition with very little lip.
Is it worth having them turned ?
Tks guys.

I'd skip the turning of the rotors. Instead, road force balance tires to rule out balance, cupping or bent rim. then have wheel bearings and brake rotors checked if the problem is still there.

replaced all 4 rotors and brake pads under warranty! I had just taken a long trip to S. California with some hard braking on the freeway that the Dealer thought may have warped the rotors.

How many miles are on them? Have they been resurfaced before?
The gist I got was that the Audi rotors are relatively thin, and therefore don't last as long and are more susceptible to warping than many other stock rotors.
Seems likely to me that the problem would worsen as the brakes heat, since there's a good chance they'd be heating (and therefore expanding) unevenly.
Well that's the closest I can come to sounding like i know what I'm talking about; don't be fooled.

The more common cause of brake shudder are brake pad deposits on the rotors, supposedly, and you can re-bed the pads to fix it.
Sorry, no link offhand. Maybe on the stoptech site.

Scared teh crap outta me the first time it happened - 90-60 hard braking and the car shook violently.
The scrub procedure is basically to do 5 or so hard decels from >60 to ~10mph - do *not* come to a complete stop - successively. This heats up the rotors and scrubs off any deposits. If you stop when the rotors are hot, pad material transfers to and sticks to the rotors (that's the theory).
It can be a challenge to find a suitable road with no traffic on which to do the scrub, but it worked for me.

I will try this... Its really weird because sometimes the brakes make a grinding noise when they get hot and other times they are perfectcly smooth.
Trying to establish where to spend my money.
Any advice on the best brake pads to use ?

the link below has an excellent how to.
it'll make the deposits on the rotor i.e. what those say is "warped" dissapear.
