Default Size of star socket for 2.7 crank bolt

Anyone know the size of star socket required to turn the star bolt on the crankshaft?

12 point 24mm (or 15/16), I believe.

Yup, that's correct. I've definitely used a 15/16 on it, but the official size is 24mm.

I understand that a 24mm 12-point sort of fits the bolt, but what size star socket is that?

What are you talking about?? It does not sort of fit, it IS a 24mm 12 point, it fits 100% perfect. It is not a "star" as you keep calling it, which the proper name is external torx, which this is not, external torx is 6 sided. obviously a 12 point, is well, a 12 point.

So the bolt head is not the type using an external torx socket? I was just looking at an image of the bolt and thought it was the torx type head. It's a 12-point bolt head then, I guess. Thanks.

They are RIBE sockets, not Torx.
