Slippin' and a-slidin', winter tire pressure?

You can run a tire at max pressure all day long, as long as you don't overload it. But overloading a tire applies at any pressure. At a higher pressure, the tire is rated to carrier more load. If anything, the more pressure you have in a tire, the safer it is. Up to the max specification of the tire.

The pros are;
- Higher load capability
- Less rolling resistance
- Cooler running tire

The cons are;
- Harsher ride
- Can cause neven tire wear

My tires are V rated and good to 51psi. My tires are wearing even across the tread. I will be leaving them where they are set.

That's cool, sounds like you know what you're doing.

But I'm curious now; I can't find any info in my '02 manual that specifies anything other than 39/42, I figured those were figures that Audi settled on to "tune" the tires to the suspension.

Yellow label inside passenger side rear door jamb. 3 people + 1 cargo piece(under 100mph) = 29/29
