Audi factory warranty ends next week. I examined all the CV boots and noticed a very small tear forming in the front drivers side. Is this covered?

The rubber by itself is not usually covered. It is covered when the joint itself fails and causes the tear from the inside.
The following approach may work for you:
Mr./Ms. Service writter... I'm getting a really funny noise from my driver's side wheel. Its not all the time.. only when I turn the wheel. I hear a click...click..click.. Can you take a look at it please..befor my warranty expires. (hand the writter a $10.00 as you sign the papers and say thanks)

vibration ad speed increases under load. I had my outer boot replaced and it was wasted a week later. It was the axle that was killing it.
INSIST that the dealer clean off the grease from the rim and have them document that they will. A greasy rim was how I instatntly knew that the boot burst again. The dealer was quite embarassed that they documented...
1)r/r pass side CV boot
2)Ck for vibration in steering
3)Clean grease from pass side wheel
When I returned with an identical issue a week later they had a NEW Audi loaner (07 A8) waiting for me.
