Default Snow tires

I was wondering if these tires would fit my 2001 Allroad.

Blizzak LM-25 235/45R17 94H
I found a great deal on a set with only 500 miles on them

I'll be using the car in Lake Tahoe and live at 8000ft on a mountain.

those tires would be fine
just make sure that they have a high enough load rating
allroads are heavy

i think diameter is smaller than normal.
According to my personal calculation, diameter of each size as below.

235/45R17 = 643.3mm
225/55R17 = 679.3mm (normal size for 2.7T)
@1inch = 25.4mm

If you don't mind about this, should be no problem.
Blizzak is very reliable.

IIRC, 17" is load rating 97, 18" looks like Tire Rack lists 96, I like the 100 rated I run. The heavier sidewall seems to better stabilize the allroad.

I figure they would be a lil smaller on the sidewall but handle a little better on dry road. How else will it affect the car?

Speedo will be off i assume?

For the 3 months that I will need them in Tahoe they seem like a great option vs 1k for a new set.

I use Nokian all-season "WR G2" 225/55R17 101V XL on the allroad dual spoke wheels

The "101" load rating is up to 1819 lbs per tire.
The "V" speed rating is 149 MPH.

I agree with PaperToast...make sure the load rating is sufficient on the tires you're considering.

IMO, handling will be better, and will look like a RS6 in level 1 due to small road clearance and tire diameter. But will reduce the speedo, milage, milage meter around with 95% ratio.
At 8000fts on a mountain, we can rarely spot RS6 with heavy snow!
Actually regret to say i don't recommend this diameter for ar.

My local tire shop just recommended the Nokian WRG2's to me for my 05 Allroad. Do you use them year 'round? How are they for the non-winter months? Just looking at them, I assume they're pretty darn good in the winter.
