Default Snowflake on dash??? what's the point?

Ok I really want to know the purpose of the stupid snowflake on the information screen that only comes on between 23 and 41*F cuz it is snowing here in Colorado Springs and temps were below 23*F

Does it have any functional purpose at all???

Default Yes!! I find it to be an incredibly informative icon, possible the best the ar has.

It let's me know that I can tell the kids to ride with their head out the window and they can catch snowflakes on their tongue.

Other than that its a good reminder that the road may be icy. Our BMW does this too.

Default thats the temp range where the roads are likely to be slick/icy without you realizing it

sure they can be icy when its colder than that, but if its below 23 degrees you KNOW that its cold enough to be icy. the snowflake is a nice reminder if you didnt realize how cold it was.

I'd settle for the Full Moon symbol! It would explain a lot...

Default that is the BLACK ICE temp range. black ice is caused by fog and much more dangerous than normal ice

In the 23-41 temp range the air can contain liquid drops (fog) but the asphalt can be below freezing. as the fog passes over the frozen ground it can very quickly freeze and create nearly invisible black ice.

Black Ice is BY FAR the most deadly weather related phenomenon in the PNW. More deadly than mud slides, floods, snow, normal ice, wind storms, volcanoes, earthquakes etc...
