Naturally, everything in life leads to thinking about tuning an audi, right?

Anyway, I understand the phsyics behind porting and polishing (P/P) intake/exhaust tracks. The goal is less friction between rushing air and the contact of metal. And, some would argue less turbulance and more direct air flow given the same physical 3D layout of the track.

Would P/P a stock tubular-style intake on the 2.7t yield felt results on the butt dyno? Seems more low-end torque would be yielded. Was the OEM RS4 intake mani much different than a tubular-style under an OEM allroad hood? I think there was a year of the allroad which did not have the tubular-style mani. And, I think the TIP and 6MT ar model intake manis are different among themselves. What upgrades are out there for intake manis that won't break the bank?

Default Wouldn't most gains come in higher revs, when there is more volume being pushed through?

You're a late bloomer - I've been cutting those for decades now

You're going to miss the turbo's whistling.

Yep, the gains from such work would be mainly on the top end (after 5K rpms or so), however the reults would/should be very positive considering the allroad is already turbo charged. I'd bet gains in the neighborhood of 40hp approx could be seen from those efforts.

Heck, while you're in there throw in some stage 2 cams for good measure, along with lager injectors and perhaps even an Aquamist system.

That's what I'd do.

Default I considered that, and decided a single generic turbo spinning was ok. Otherwise it would be ...

.. "turbos' whistling".
