Default Sounds like that may have exceeded the GVWR...

...but then again, take just about any Japanese car and put nothing but a large (doesn't have to be obese, mind you) American in each of the seats of the Japanese car, and you've probably exceeded its GVWR without any additional luggage too.

Default agreed....

The six adults weighed anywhere from 115 lbs to just shy of 190 (me), four of them were girls (wifey included). Each cooler required two people to carry it.

Default Had 20 boxes of tile at ~20lbs a box for about 1000 lbs in

the back of an A4 2.8 avant with seats folded down spread evenly, looked on the gas flap door and we were within 50 lbs of max wt or so. Won't do it again, but still did not hit bump stops on the way home.
