I recently changed my pads and rotors and thought I would pass on a few tips for people that have not done theirs yet.
1. Make sure you have a 7mm allen socket for the front guide pins. Typical kits skip the 7 for some reason.
2. The Bentley manual says to pry the retaining spring off prior to removing the guide pins. However, it is much easier if you remove the pins first and then pop out the spring. Much less stress on it.
3. The brake carrier needs to be removed to get the front rotors on/off. The 21mm ribbed bolt can be on there real tight (200nm). Be prepared to use some leverage. The rear brake carrier does not need to be removed to get the rear rotors off.
4. Clean everything and wear gloves. sorry s.carder

Tires: Toyo or Goodyear this time. 235's instead of 225's
Pads: Hawk HPS
Rotors: Zimmerman stock
For me: Durable > Performance

I don't know about the hawk pads but I am like you... durability > performance. Judging by the rotors I just took off they could use a longer lasting pad. Very little lip.
