Source of vibration possibly identified. Who can verify that this motor mount would be the cause?

The purple stain I assume is the mount goo that has come out and evaporated or washed away?

I have a dts and snub mount with drivers side broken motor mount with no vibration
without that stuff I don't know if it would vibrate. Looks like we have the same repairs scheduled, I have the part #'s if you need them. I'm doing rs4 engine(avon), and tranny mounts(solid rubber).

I will def do RS4 mounts. Was considering purchase from Vast
Vast price is $210 shipped for a pair. I will also get a Vast snub mount ($26 shipped). I should have done the snub mount when I did my timing belt but I didn't order it in time and didn't feel like waiting for one to come in.

I have AWE DTS but no snub mount. My leaking motor mount is passenger side. That could make a big difference as the torque probably twists drivers side and passenger side in opposite directions. The failed mount may cause the vibration in one direction but not the other??? Who knows for sure, but the mount needs replaced anyway.

Here is a write up if you hadn't found it yet.

I think it is a medium chance...
I actually had a vibration issue in my Saab that turned out to be an engine mount. We went thru struts, tires, rims, rods to find out it was a motor mount. Go figure. Especially in your case in the fact it was tied to acceleration.

Sounds like a good place to start for chasing down vibration would be to do motor mounts since 1 is
clearly leaking, or completely empty of fluid(mine doesn't look as bad as your leak). How far off is stage 3 anyhow? : ) Your clutch has got to be getting close to needing to be replace at 100K, if not I am sure going to jinx you.

I don't know how far off stage 3 is. I'd almost prefer that my turbos fail to "make" me do it
There are just so many other non-car projects I can spend this money on so I have been holding off. And when I do eventually do it I will probably do it a little at a time. Of course all things that should be done with the motor is out will be done like the clutch that you mention as well as the DPs if I don't do they separately before.

2nd that...
While I am an Audi noob...I have extensive e30 experience and had a similar vibration(coupled with an audible "click") upon acceleration that turn out to be a motor mount. Easy job on the 325..probably a nightmare on the allroad.
