For boost requests above 20psi the 2277-series wheel on the K04/997 Blouch turbo would definitely be better suited than the RS4 or RS6. Also, for these smaller compressors to provide the airmass required for 450+bhp they are working less efficiently, making things harder for the intercooler -- especially a stock one.

The air inlets requirement is the same as for the RS4 turbos, yes. However, the design won't require expensive intercooler upgrades. The charged air will be cooler than what a "PJ" K04 would do.

Speaking of the air inlets, what's the consensus on pricing? They can be had for ~250USD on Ebay. And for a lot more through various high performance suppliers. Are these things being over-specced in most cases? Seems to me like this should be a $150 dollar item.

The stock SMICs have plastic ends and will crack over time. While many intercooler kits are expensive, the Allroad has more space under the hood/bumper and can use the RS6 ICs which aren't too much new (or you can find some used). $650 new. The key with being frugal is to look for used parts off the B5S4 market or be creative (ie my RS6 cat back is 1/4 the price of a Milltek and is just as effective. DPs should be gutted, not replaced. If you must replacement (look to the used S4 DP market).

As for the inlets, I have heard of RS4 inlet knockoffs, but I haven't heard anyone's results. Here's one set from 034 . I have heard there are cheaper ones on eBay.

What 1/4mile, FATS, or dyno numbers have these snails been able to make?

It's too early to say. We haven't yet begun beta testing on them. Obviously a key question will be the software to apply. That's why I was asking about Uni's 440cc RS6 file. GIAC's Stage 3 for PJ-K04s also seems pretty aggressive. I don't understand the inclusion of "Green Top" injectors in their fueling kit. They have the wrong spray pattern.

Yes, AWE/GIACs kit is using the wrong injectors. Have you looked into the ones EPL is using on their fueling kits? http://www.racetronix.com/L107FM.html

The alternative is to use the RS4 injectors, but they are fuel starved too quickly for most Stg3 people. I haven't heard much about Unitronics tuning. Where are they located?

As I mentioned before, custom tuning is the best option. EPLs rates make it comparable with APR or AWEs fueling kit. (Get your own turbos installed, drive to them, they'll install larger MAF and injectors, then tune your car)

Here's an S4 injector guide on the S4 wiki

Here's an S4 injector guide on the S4 wiki
http://s4wiki.com/wiki/Fuel_injectors

Bosch "Green Giants" are rated for ~440cc at 3bar, so used in a 4bar environment like found on the S4 they have plenty of headroom for a 450hp tune.

I find this calculator to also be handy. But I've bookmarked that Wiki page. It's really useful.

The F4H-BT is not a BIG turbo. It falls right alongside the RS6.

KMD is great. The kit? As a said before, $1600 in piping to bolt on ~$2000+ turbos? Seems silly

How about these?
