Stock wipers suck in snow!

I know that this is old news, but I drove my 2002 in the snow for the first time today. The car drove great, but the wipers were terrible! they froze up and left the windshied translucent at best. I stopped and cleared them by hand, but they clogged up again within a few miles. Time to get the winter blades, unless anyone else has any good aftermarket recommendations...?

I went to my dealer (Legend in Amityville, NY) and asked about getting winter blades for my 2002 allroad. The parts person checked the computer and reported that there are none.
There were winter blades for the 2001. Clair sold me a pair but they do not fit the 2002 wiper arms. The attachment is different.
I went to several of the places that sell car stuff (Peo Boys etc) and none of them had blades for the allroad. I don't recall if they had them for the A6 and I don't know if blades made for the 2002 A6 would fit the allroad.
In any case, I would like to get winter blades for my allroad soon -- I am headed for Maine on Friday morning -- but I don't know whether they exist or where to get them.

Just called my dealer, and he is showing the same winter wiper blade part number for all Allroads, regardless of year. Will pick them today, but don't have a 2002 to test them on.

Okay, here's the scoop. The wiper blades that the dealer says are winter specific are, in fact, their new all season blade units (including arms). They come with a new Audi innovation, wear indicators, which is a graphic indicator mounted on the central pivot point of the arm. The units are not encased in a rubber sheath, so will probably suffer from the same icing and clogging of the OEM units -- unless the blade material has been updated and winterized. I didn't purchasae them.

there service dep't is a ****hole (could you imagine your turbo porsche in their bay?) They told me "don't mod your ar if you want to keep the warranty". I'm going to Anchor Audi in Lynbrook to see if they would like to svc. my ar. I hear they're mod-friendly.
