Default LOL. I did this with a dresser last winter.

we (me, wife and kids) were shopping and found a dresser that apparently we needed to have. we paid for it and said we'd be back to pick it up as I knew it wouldn't fit without folding the seats, and the wife wasn't happy with the notion of making the kids sit on the roof.

So I drove 45 minutes home and dropped off the wife and kids before heading back to the store. as I left my wife said, "You're not bringing the trailer?" I replied, "why, it will fit." and drove away.

another 45 minute later, I arrived at the store to see a dresser much larger than I remembered it. It was 46" wide.

I ended up driving another 45 minutes home, then 45 minutes back again with the trailer all before the final trip with the trailer.

You'd think I'd learn my lesson.

Default Hey now! :oP

This was just a few months ago, that's why that number was still lingering in my head. I'm usually pretty good at "eyeballing" stuff that I plan to load into the allroad to determine whether or not it will fit. I'm just stuck in my office, and couldn't confirm the measurements. LOL

Default I fit a full size stove in.

The largest item I tried to fit was a 56" DLP tv with the box. That didn't quite make it and ended up on the roof. It probably would have fit w/o the box but I didn't want to do that. DLP tv's are light at 95lb so it was no problem without load bars. You have enough clearance hight wise to allow for the non fold flat seats.

Default Funny comment on the way home

I put it in a friends garage for a few weeks as my new place wasn't ready yet and he was giving me directions back to his house. As we were coming up to a set of lights he says we are turning left there. There was one car ahead of me in the left lane so i gave it some gas, spooled up the turbos and passed it and pulled in front to make the turn (without cutting him off). He said he was going to suggest I pull in behind as he didn't think we had enough power with the weight in the back to pass him :-).
