Default Suspension ?'s

Been reading lots of posts with people's suspension problems but haven't found what im looking for. Appreciate any insight. I have an 02 AR and it all started with a fault in the front drivers side level sensor. I replaced it and continued to have a problem with the finding the front drivers suspension down to the ground in the mornings. When I started the car the suspension would raise up the correct level. Occasionally while driving the suspension would drop to the ground and I would have to pull over and let the suspension come back up before continuing. I also had a dynamic headlight control warning on the dash but from what I read I figured it was because of the faulty level sensor. I finally broke down and took the car in to the stealership and they informed me that I needed a new compressor and front driver air shock for a heafty grand total of $1900. The compressor, which I believe is toward the rear of the car, seems to be working just fine. Everytime the car drops I can hear the compressor kick on and bring the car back up. My questions are, do I really need a new compressor? and does the whole shock have to be replaced? I thought that those things had some sort of air bag that could be replaced.
And heres the strangest thing, they told me they could not turn off the dynamic headlight warning light because it was based on a fault with xenon headlights which my car does not have. Does that sound right? Thanks for any help.

Default Sounds like a control module problem, hard to diagnose over the internet though.

Don't overlook a leaking spring overworking the compressor till it shuts down, then the car will drop untill the safety overrideclicks off again, and sarts the process over. Doesn'tmatter whether you have Xenons or not the headlights of the A/R dynamicly adjust due to the ride level change.Sounds typical of a dealership.

Thanks. So if I still hear the compressor running does that mean the compressor still hasn't gone bad? about the headlights, the dealrship actually asked me if I had removed xenons to put in regular headlamps, what are they thinking?!!! I think I may need to take it for a second opinion.

Default Similar issues!!!

I do not have any indy's in the area and will (can not) take it to the local stealership. My driver's front back drains down to the stop. Sometimes it only take a couple hours. Other times it stays perfect. Either way when I park the car and set it to level 3 or 4 it ALWAYS stays put and does not drain.

It takes for ever to pump up in the morning when it does drain and then my compressor is always running, even when I fall below 15 MPH. Recent long trips has the car blinking in level 1 and then the warning light coming on, I have to pull over and wait for it to pump up. But other times I can go 100 miles and it stay perfect???

Any ideas? if it were a leak in the bag why would it stay up on certain levels. Could it be a sensor, seal in the plumbing??

Default Because the fabric seals at certain levels. The holes frequrntly occur

where the spring fabric bends.
