Default Is there a way to find out if your car is "chipped"?

I got the free 6 hour, 91 octane tune from APR, and I didn't notice any power increase. For those of you who have gotten a tune, did you feel the increase?

I even tested it on a desolate road I frequent. From a dead stop at one sign, to another, I hit the same MPH.

Default They would have known when they gave you the demo.

The installer had to read your ecu befor the upload.

Did APR tell you how to activate the program they gave you?

Default No, I went to the shop, got the 6 hour demo installed, and was told it was good to go.

They said if I was happy with it, come back to pay for it and they'd "unlock" the tune.

Is it possible they wouldn't see the tune if it was from another tuner other than APR.

Default With Revo we have to actually turn the demo on after install, so it gets checked.

If the car was chipped already and they overwrote that tune, with the demo than probably you wouldn't feel a difference, and yes they can tell if it's not stock.

You would most definitely feel the difference b/t stock and chipped.

Go back to the tuner and tell him your feel of the car.

2.7t? or 4.2? i'd suggest going back to the tuner.

Default Went back today, they said it may be that the previous owner had the demo already

and that it won't work again. They never checked the first time I was in, and it's too late to see now since the newer demo tune would have erased the older one (if it existed). They also said the tune looked stock to them (and felt stock when they drove it)

The only thing they suggested was, since APR has a 30 day, 100% money back guarantee, buy the tune, and if it still doesn't drive like a rocket, then get my money back.

I think I'll try going to a REVO or GIAC dealer first and try their free trials. See what happens

Default That may not be possible, APR has a very strong encryption. In the past I have not been able to

flash over APR tuning without having a dealer flash it back to stock. The new Revo tuning may be able to but I won't have it for another couple of weeks so I don't know yet.
