A sub $200 joint wont be anywhere near as good as OEM. Plus you can damage other stuff in the process. Plus, if you can change the axle yourself, why not just change the boot yourself? And why pay the dealer instead of an indy?

I just swapped out my axles with a pair from raxles instead of changing the boot. It was a better use of my time to simply swap out the axle instead of doing the boot. Even if you do the boot, who knows when the joint may go. My $.02.

Cleaning and repacking the joint takes what, an extra 15-30 minutes? A rebuilt knock-off joint will probably go before the OEM one does, even if the OEM one has 10's of thousands of miles more on it.
