Thinking of selling the allroad, help convince me to keep it
Let me start by saying that I love my car!!!and normally wouldn't even think about getting rid of it. But a buddy of mine is selling his Cobra (AC Cobra Replica and NOT a Ford Mustang)that I have always loved. I've always wanted a Cobra, but could never afford one, and this is priced right (for a friend). Now I can't afford to just purchase the car and keep the allroad, so I'm thinking about selling the ar and buying the cobra and a less expensive daily driver.
So, do I keep the daily driver that I love or do I get the car of my dreams and a used A4?
My wife is neutral, but suggested selling the Harley (not gonna happen)instead of the ar. What's a guy to do?

Witch Cobra rep is it? There are some good, and some not so.
Superformance are good/to very good
Factory 5 are ok if it's the track car kit.
street type just don't look or drive right.
Early Era's are one of the very best.
Not to sound sumg but I was lucky enough to have had an orginal at one time.
Just my 2 cents.

He has $60K plus into the car, and he's selling for a big loss, really needs the money.
His price to me (or another friend)has 1 stipulation. If one of us buys it, and EVER want to sell it we have to give him first option to the car. No pressure to sell it, but IF he wants to get first chance to buy. I know everyone says this, but he wants it to goto someone who will take care of it.
This is not the actual car, but it looks just like this (only with silver/grey shelby stripes and slightly differant wheels)

my plan
is to keep the ar and build my own cobra replica. I am really digging the package from factory five.
only 2 things are standing in my way of the cobra.
1) I need to finish the basement first.
then
2) I want to build a detached garage/shop in which to work on the cobra project.
I figure I'll get started on the cobra in another 2 or 3 years at this rate...

Re: It's a Superperformance with a 351W (stroked) I think last dyno was 425hp at the wheels
Lucky you to have had an original. Although NEVER cheap, an original commands more money than any car should be. I was watching the speed channel the other night and one of Carol's personal cars ( I think 1 of two built, if I remember correctly)is going to Barrett Jackson next week. They were discussing that it may go in the $5-6mm range with the right bidders there.
