For those of you who were fortunate enough to get the 751+861 roof rack combo; could any of you with the 861s be kind enough to list the part numbers for the bar end cap and the turning tool? The US market has the equivalent RB47 bars but doesn't supply the end cap or turning tool. If I get the part #s maybe I can coerce Thule USA to supply these spare parts for me.
TIA.

I have that setup, and saved the literature that came with the bars and feet. However, I can find no mention of indivdual part nos..
A call to Thule should get the info you seek. They were very helpful last week when I called about bike racks that are compatible with the aero bars. The 2006 catalogue which they sent also spells it out nicely.

Thanks Spyder, I knew you and another had the setup.
The brushed aluminum bars are available in the US again (RB47) but they don't have the end caps that the 861 does. Apparently, they are only made to fit the new 450R feet.
I will call Thule and ask.

I called Thule and requested them to double-check their answer as to whether the Thule RB47 would fit on a rapid rail system (they had previously said yes). The answer is no! ![Frown](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
So, if anyone else out there wants to use the aluminum bars (aka Thule 861s) on their vehicle with a rapid foot pack (non 450R) then offshore is the only way to go.
In the spirit of getting what I want
I am now looking into ordering a set from the UK. Anyone else want to piggy back an order to reduce the overall cost?
PM me if you are interested.

I'm looking at the 2006 Thule catalogue, and indeed, they don't seem to offer the 751 foot that fits perefctly on our OEM rails, and slides into the bottom notch of the 851 rails.
OTOH, the RB47 pictured in the catalogue appears identical externally to the 851. I guess the internal RB47 cap assemblies differ to accomodate the 450R feet instead of the 751. Can't understand why they would go away from what worked so well, ie, 851 + 751.

I went down to my local rack store and checked out the RB47 with all intentions of buying a set. Brought my 751 (I presume 755 to the rest of the world) footpack in and voila, rail fits nicely. The problem is that there is no endcap or tightening tool that is provided with the rail. Since the 450R tightens via the footpack itself, no tool is used on the bars.
Anyway, I am still going to pursue the 861s as I have the footpack and AM NOT swapping them out. As a matter of interest, I have picked up a couple more footpacks from a new (754 and 756) setups as spares or for packaging up for other allroaders. Since these setups are discontinued now I figure if I can grab a set; do it!
