TIME TO PLAY, "Name That Noise" !!!!
this is an '02 2.7T tip, 47K miles.
cold start -- a high pitched noise, also sounds like metal shearing, once idle kicks down, noise goes away or is significantly quieter. I do not hear under throttle (while driving).
I have a guess based on a STFA, but why not make it fun.

We are all in agreement
That was my guess based on the STFA.
I know almost zero about this motor
I do not know what the secondary air pump does or where it it located
Yet, thru this board I was able to diagnose the problem
Back to the Dealer to be covered under CPO.

Secondary airpump is bolted on the rear top of the engine.
During startup it pumps air into the exhaust which helps burn off raw gas from the start up cycle's rich mixture. The pumps bearings go which gives the nice sound. Without a check code/light the pump is still working but getting ready to go.
