Default Tip lag-as my dealer believes it to be and gen'l rant.

Took my '02 AR TIP in for its 20K service and explained how the damn thing almost killed me at a couple intersections thanks to the tip-lag. Problem is, it happens only occasionally, not consistently.
The service writer listened to me bitch and offered the following:
"Do you left foot brake?" he asked.
"Occasionally." I said, as lightening struck the sh*thouse.
"Yeah, it's a 'safety feature' built into the ECU. You've gotta be off the brake for more than .40 of a second otherwise the ECU won't let the car take off at full-chat."
Turns out, as he sees it, that Audi included this 'feature' in thier U.S. models to keep the half-wit masses from backing over their dogs, lawn ornaments, and spouses. Lotsa bad press ju-ju from the last go-around, so that's their solution.
And so we, the enthusiasts, suffer once again. Thank-you 60 Minutes, you've done us all a great service. The world is a much safer place because of your efforts.
End rant.

Default They should give the HUA award to AOA for this.

I think that's a seperate issue - I can reproduce that "safety" delay at will. I experience the lag independent of any braking action.
