Living in Vancouver I began to get tired of the silly DSP action in my 2002 allroad. The car would shift up too early going up moderate hills, and be a general PITA when trying to give it enough throttle to pass someone only to have it get too aggressive with a gear change and lots of throttle.
I thought I'd try out the tip trans recode to the 'mountain'-spec 0032 from my stock 1002.
With the stock coding of 1002, the car behaved as expected in D and S. The Tip selection allowed me to hold any gear without auto shifts at redline. This was a distinction I wanted to make after seeing conflicting info online. My guess is the A4/S4 and/or the older A6s were different to begin with.
1002
WXYZ
W- 1= TIP buttons only active in TIP mode
X- 0= Old tip strategy
Y- 0= DSP active
Z- 2= N/A region
0032
W- 0= buttons active in D/S
Y- 3= Mountain 'sport' mode. Quicker shifts, flares gone
Again, just since i was finding conflicting information, this is what i found works well in the AR
