Default TIP - Tranny Lag revisit

I was thinking the other day when I was talking to Itacud at the meet, about the tranny lag. I was mentioning my friend Simon's S6, which of course has a TIP. This car snap shifts and provides a more satisfying driving experience.

Any one thought of adapting an S6 tranny controller to their allroad?

I know - have it chipped with the GIAC, but I was pondering the warranty friendliness of OEM.

Just thinking... I'm not sorry I bought the TIP, as I had the choice. The auto just makes more sense for me. But it would be nice to get a better drive out of it in manual.

Default Yeah, wonder if we could just take the S6 chip and put it into the ar?

Probably different trannies, though.

Default Tip-chips likely have no effect on warranty...they probably help the transmission last longer...

by eliminating the slip and slap into gear after long pauses. Probably less stress and damage to the tranny over time. I doubt very much if you'd be denied a warranty claim based on a tip chip...but of course you never know.
